Larry Kutt, Founder and CEO

Larry Kutt is the Chief Executive Officer and a Founding Partner of Altitude Control Technologies. He has been leading the forefront of oxygen controlled environments for the last 15 years. He is also co-founder of the School for Entrepreneurship at Metro State University in Denver where he served on the board and faculty. Mr. Kutt was nominated for Inc.’s Entrepreneur of the Year award in 1989, and was a semi-finalist for Ernst and Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2005 and 2006. Larry is a graduate of Indiana University.

Shaun Wallace, Founding Partner and Head Engineer

Shaun Wallace is ACT’s Altitude Guru, a Founding Partner of ACT and a pioneer of creating modified oxygen environments. Shaun has successfully designed systems for unique applications such as the Star-Spangled Banner at the Smithsonian Institution. He is the Primary Investigator for ongoing development work commissioned by the US Navy. His interest in modified-oxygen systems and first-hand experience began as an Olympic cyclist, competing in two Olympic Games and three Commonwealth Games. Shaun received a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Nottingham University.

James Hayward, Founding Partner and Head of Operations

James Hayward, Operations Manager and Founding Partner, has been installing and streamlining ACT systems for over 7 years. With a broad background ranging from construction to aerospace mechanics, James has the multi-disciplinary skill set to ensure ACT’s installs fit the environment no matter their unique challenges. James is an avid hiker and sportsman. He has his Bachelor’s in biology from CAL POLY, San Louis Obispo.

In 2004, our team revolutionized the simulated altitude industry by developing the world’s first purpose-built control system for maintaining a normobaric enclosure at a specified altitude. For ten years this has been considered the gold-standard device and is in use at hundreds of altitude installations worldwide.

  • Air Separation – Our air separation technology is the most efficient available at any price.
  • Control System –The controller detects when the room is occupied and activates the right amount of equipment for energy savings. You can access the ACT controller from any smart phone, computer or tablet.
  • Sensors – Multiple sensors for O2, CO2, and atmospheric pressure automatically manage everything together at the same time.
  • OSHA Standard for Air quality – ACT’s control system ventilates the room to keep the air fresh at all times. ACT’s are the only altitude control systems to meet OSHA air quality standards.
  • NFPA Standard for Fire Safety – ACT’s system is the only one to meet the National Fire Protection Association standard for fire safe oxygen levels.

Engineering

  • Computer Simulations – Before we install anything we run fluid dynamics simulations to determine the optimal equipment configuration for your room.
  • Oxygen Safety – ACT incorporates self-calibrating sensors and ventilation control to ensure safety in every part of the system –treated rooms, mechanical spaces, and exhaust areas to ensure that no space can ever become over-oxygenated, or unsafely hypoxic.
  • We take full responsibility – All ACT systems include delivery, installation, training and follow up. We do not leave the installation site until everything is working perfectly and you understand everything about the system. We have a 100% success rate.
